Medical advances in technology, equipment and communication continue to improve survival rates for heart attack victims. But the element of human participation in emergency life saving efforts remains as important now as it has been even before the advent of defibrillation, EKG or angioplasty.
The capability that these machines have to save lives is dependent upon human investments of time, the willingness to teach and to learn, and group communication at the community level.
