VISION
Dial 911 Don't Drive Atlanta and The Metro Atlanta Cardiology Consortium, representing a select group of medical service partners in Greater Metro Atlanta, are currently focused on spreading the word about the importance of early cardiac intervention within the Atlanta area.
The most critical time in a cardiac emergency case, from onset of symptoms to catheter lab treatment, can be dramatically reduced by obtaining access to the right equipment quickly, by knowing what symptoms to look for, and by knowing how to best handle a potential emergency.
EKG and transmitter equipment is currently
in place in each Fulton County ambulance,
and with the launch of a targeted
public relations campaign and extensive
community outreach, we're encouraging
new partners outside the greater metro
area to provide the same equipment,
and aggressively educate consumers
about the relevance of using the 911
system in the event of cardiac emergency.
It's our hope that the Dial 911 Don't Drive Atlanta project will help to inform, educate, inspire and protect the health and lives of Atlanta's cardiac 'at risk' population, and that communities state and nationwide will launch their own lifesaving Dial 911 Don't Drive initiatives.
Perhaps the most powerful message of the project is that the decision to call 911 at the onset of cardiac distress symptoms should be considered now, before the problem happens. Remember to Dial 911, Don't Drive!
